Terms & Conditions
Effective date: August 3, 2026
Agreement to these Terms
These Terms and Conditions are a legal agreement between you and 3vedi Insights LLC. By using this website, creating an account, purchasing a subscription, booking a session, or using Theya, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our site or purchase our products.
Who we are
Alotheya is operated by 3vedi Insights LLC, a California limited liability company. In these Terms, "Alotheya," "we," "us," and "our" mean 3vedi Insights LLC. "You" means the person using our site or purchasing from us.
You can reach us at alotheya@gmail.com or through the Contact page on this site.
What these Terms cover
These Terms apply to:
-
The websites alotheya.com and asktheya.com
-
Litmus, our Genomic Testing Decision Guide subscription
-
Theya, our AI guide, in both its public and subscriber versions
-
Any session you book with us, whether paid or provided at no cost
-
Any other content, product, or service we offer through these sites
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information and is part of these Terms. If there is ever a conflict between the two documents on a privacy question, the Privacy Policy governs.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to create an account, purchase a subscription, or book a session. Our products are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to hold an account.
Many of the people we serve are parents. You are welcome to use our products to think through a question about your child. If you do, the account and the contract are still with you as the adult, and you are responsible for everything done through your account. By describing your child's situation to us, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian.
Where we offer our services
Our products are intended for residents of the United States. We do not direct our services to people outside the United States, and we make no claim that our content is appropriate or available for use elsewhere. If you access our site from outside the United States, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your own local law.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Accounts are for one person. Do not share your credentials or give anyone else access to paid content.
Tell us promptly at alotheya@gmail.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
What Alotheya is, and what it is not
This section matters more than any other part of these Terms. Please read it.
Alotheya provides educational content and decision support. Our content is created and curated by a genetic counselor licensed in the State of California, working in the capacity of educator and navigator, not in the capacity of a treating clinician.
Our products are designed to help you understand what genomic testing is, what different kinds of tests can and cannot tell you, and how to think about whether testing makes sense for your situation before you order a test.
Alotheya does not:
-
Diagnose any condition
-
Screen, assess, or evaluate you clinically
-
Interpret your personal genomic data or lab results
-
Prescribe, recommend, change, or advise you to stop any medication, supplement, or treatment
-
Order, initiate, or fulfill any laboratory test
-
Provide medical advice
-
Provide clinical genetic counseling services or any service billable to insurance
-
Establish a clinician and patient relationship of any kind
Nothing we provide is a substitute for evaluation by a physician, psychiatrist, genetic counselor acting in a clinical capacity, or other licensed healthcare provider. Nothing we provide should be used to make, change, or delay a medical decision without the involvement of a licensed clinician.
Genomic research describes patterns across populations. It does not predict what will happen to any individual, and nothing in our content confirms or rules out any condition for you specifically.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. Do not use this site or Theya for urgent or emergency needs.
Theya
Theya is an AI guide. She generates responses automatically using an AI model. Her responses are not written, reviewed, or approved by a human at the time you receive them.
Please understand the following before you use her:
-
Theya can be wrong. AI systems can produce information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, and can state incorrect information confidently.
-
Theya is not a clinician. She does not diagnose, does not give medical advice, and is not a substitute for a licensed healthcare provider.
-
Theya answers from our educational content library. She does not have access to your medical records, your genomic data, or your clinical history.
-
You should verify anything important with a qualified professional before acting on it.
What you must not send to Theya
You may describe your situation to Theya in your own words. That is what she is for.
You must not upload, paste, or otherwise submit:
-
Raw genetic or genomic data files of any kind
-
Genetic or genomic test reports
-
Laboratory results
-
Medical records or clinical documentation
We do not accept this information, Theya cannot interpret it, and Litmus is not a results interpretation product. If you have genomic data you want help understanding, that is a different service and requires working with a qualified professional directly.
We do not accept genetic or genomic information about minors under any circumstance.
We may change this in the future. If we ever begin accepting genomic data, we will update these Terms and our Privacy Policy first, it will always be optional, and it will require your separate explicit consent at the point you provide it.
Availability and use of Theya
Theya's availability may vary, and we may set reasonable limits on usage volume to keep the service working for everyone. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue Theya or any part of it.
The questions people ask Theya help us decide what content to build next. We use conversation data only to improve our own product and only as described in our Privacy Policy.
Litmus subscription and billing
Litmus is a monthly subscription that gives you access to our paywalled content library and to Theya.
Price and renewal
-
Litmus is $50 for the first month, then $10 per month.
-
Your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
-
Your payment method is charged automatically on each renewal date.
-
Payments are processed by Wix. We never receive or store your full card number.
Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from your account on this site. Cancellation stops all future billing.
When you cancel, your access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for. It does not end immediately, and we do not prorate or refund a partial month.
Price changes
We may change our prices. If we change the price of an active subscription, we will email you at least 30 days before the change takes effect, and the new price will apply starting with your next billing cycle after that notice period. You can cancel before then if you do not want to continue at the new price.
Failed payments
If a payment fails, we may retry it, and we may suspend or cancel your access until payment succeeds. We are not responsible for fees your bank or card issuer charges you.
Pre-orders
If you purchased Litmus before it became available, the following applies to you.
-
Litmus is expected to become available later in August 2026. We have not committed to a specific date.
-
Your subscription period begins on the day Litmus becomes available to you, not on the day you paid.
-
Your first recurring charge of $10 occurs one month after that start date, and monthly thereafter.
-
If the launch date moves, your start date and your recurring billing date move with it.
Your pre-order refund right
You may cancel your pre-order and receive a full refund at any time before Litmus becomes available to you. Email us at alotheya@gmail.com and we will refund you in full.
If Litmus has not become available by September 30, 2026, we will email you, and we will issue you a full refund unless you tell us you want to keep your place.
Once Litmus becomes available to you and your access begins, the standard refund policy below applies.
If you cancel your pre-order for a refund, any bonus session included with that pre-order is forfeited.
Refunds
Litmus is digital content that is available to you in full as soon as your access begins. For that reason, subscription payments are not refundable once your access period has started.
You can cancel at any time to stop future billing, and you keep access through the end of the period you paid for.
The one exception is the pre-order refund right described above.
If you believe you have been charged in error, email us at alotheya@gmail.com and we will look into it.
Sessions
We offer sessions you can book with us. These may include paid sessions and, from time to time, sessions offered at no cost as part of a promotion.
What a session is
Sessions are informational and educational conversations. They are not clinical genetic counseling appointments, not medical consultations, and not billable to insurance. Everything in the section above titled "What Alotheya is, and what it is not" applies to sessions in full.
We do not diagnose, do not interpret your personal results, and do not tell you what to do about your health during a session.
Pricing
Session prices are what we display at the time you book. We may change our session pricing at any time. A price change never affects a session you have already booked and paid for.
Rescheduling, cancellation, and no-shows
-
You may reschedule or cancel a session at no cost with at least 24 hours notice.
-
Same-day cancellations and no-shows forfeit the session, and paid sessions are not refunded.
-
If we need to reschedule, we will offer you a new time or a full refund, your choice.
Recording
We record or transcribe a session only if you agree to it at the time. You can decline, and declining does not change the session you receive.
Bonus session included with a pre-order
If your purchase included a complimentary 45 minute session:
-
The session has no cash value and is not transferable or redeemable for credit.
-
You must schedule it to take place no later than October 1, 2026.
-
You may reschedule it once. After that it is forfeited.
-
The 24 hour notice and no-show rules above apply.
-
If you cancel your pre-order for a refund, the session is forfeited.
Our content and your license to use it
All content we provide, including the Litmus library, our articles, Theya's underlying content, our graphics, and our brand names and logos, is owned by 3vedi Insights LLC or used under license. It is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
While your subscription is active, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use our content for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may print or save individual materials for your own reference, and you may share individual materials with your own treating clinician for the purpose of discussing your own healthcare. That is what they are for.
This license ends when your subscription ends.
Things you may not do
You agree not to:
-
Share your login credentials or let anyone else use your account
-
Resell, redistribute, republish, or commercially exploit our content
-
Use our content or Theya's output to train, fine tune, or develop any AI or machine learning system
-
Use scrapers, bots, crawlers, or any automated means to access, copy, or extract our content
-
Attempt to circumvent our paywall, access controls, or usage limits
-
Reverse engineer any part of our services
-
Submit anything unlawful, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or infringing
-
Submit personal information about another adult without their permission
-
Misrepresent your identity or your relationship to anyone whose situation you describe
-
Interfere with, overload, or disrupt our site or the services we depend on
-
Use our services in any way that violates applicable law
We may suspend or terminate your access if you do any of these. If we terminate your account for violating these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund.
What you send us
You keep ownership of anything you write to us or to Theya.
By submitting it, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty free license to use, store, and process it in order to operate our services, respond to you, and improve our content and our products. We use this information only as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell it, license it to anyone else, or make it available for external research.
Results and testimonials
We do not promise any particular outcome. Our products are designed to help you make a more informed decision about genomic testing. They do not guarantee that you will reach any specific conclusion, obtain any specific benefit, or experience any specific change in your health or care.
Any testimonial, review, or example experience we publish reflects that individual's own experience. It is not a promise or guarantee that you will have a similar experience.
Third party services and links
We rely on third party services, including Wix for our website and payments, Chatbase for Theya, and AI model providers that generate Theya's responses. Their availability and performance are outside our control.
Our content may reference or link to third party websites, testing companies, tools, or resources. We provide these for information only. We do not control them, we do not endorse them by referencing them, and we are not responsible for their content, their products, their pricing, or their privacy practices. Any dealings you have with them are between you and them.
Service availability
We do our best to keep the site and Theya working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of our services, including Litmus, at any time.
If we permanently discontinue Litmus, we will give active subscribers reasonable notice by email and will not charge you for a period you cannot use.
Disclaimer of warranties
Our site, our content, Theya, and our sessions are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that our content is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your particular situation. Genomic science changes, and information that is current today may not be current later.
Some states do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, 3vedi Insights LLC and its members, officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or anticipated savings, arising out of or relating to your use of our services, even if we have been advised of the possibility of those damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, including liability for fraud, willful injury, or violation of law.
Some states do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 3vedi Insights LLC and its members, officers, employees, and contractors from any claim, loss, liability, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of our services, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
Termination
You may stop using our services at any time, and you may cancel your subscription at any time from your account.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we terminate your access because you breached these Terms, you are not entitled to a refund.
The sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including the scope disclosures, intellectual property terms, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or our services will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Diego County, California, and you and we consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
Either of us may bring a qualifying claim in small claims court instead.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have to file a complaint with a government agency or to any remedy that cannot be waived under applicable law.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as our products change. When we do, we will post the updated version here with a new effective date.
If a change materially affects your rights or your subscription, we will notify active subscribers by email before it takes effect. For existing subscribers, a material change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle after that notice. If you do not agree to a change, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
Other terms
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any additional terms we present at the point of purchase, are the entire agreement between you and us about our services.
Severability. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect and the unenforceable part is modified to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision of these Terms, that is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of our business, subject to the notice commitments in our Privacy Policy.
Events outside our control. We are not liable for any failure or delay caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including outages at our service providers.
Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
